Australian Sugar Cane Railway, Bundaberg

Bundaberg Steam Tramway Preservation Society Incorporated (BSTPS) trading as Australian Sugar Cane Railway (ASCR) is a working museum which is dedicated to operating, restoring and showcasing the history of sugar cane railways in the Bundaberg region and is located inside the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens.
All of our locomotives worked in the cane fields and mills around the Bundaberg region, with 2 of our locomotives built locally at the Bundaberg Foundry in 1952. Our track is 610 mm (2 foot) gauge.
ASCR is entirely maintained and operated by dedicated team of Volunteer Rail Safety Workers who are all members of the non-profit Bundaberg Steam Tramway Preservation Society (BSTPS).
There is not one paid position within our organisation and our members have a massive variety of trades, skills and abilities.
We also welcome new membership applications.
Our trains run inside the Bundaberg Botanical Gardens on most Sundays & Wednesdays plus most public holidays.
During the Queensland School Holidays we operate on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from 9am and 3pm.

Tickets are available by CASH or EFTPOS at the station.
You do NOT have to pre-book except for Private Hire of the train for Private event or function.
Trains are also available for Hire for events/weddings and joy rides. Contact us for more information.
