Australian Sugar Cane Railway, Bundaberg
Bundaberg Steam Tramway Preservation Society Incorporated (BSTPS) trading as Australian Sugar Cane Railway (ASCR) is a working museum which is dedicated to operating, restoring and showcasing the history of sugar cane railways in the Bundaberg region.
All of our locomotives worked in the cane fields and mills around the Bundaberg region, with 2 of our locomotives built locally at the Bundaberg Foundry in 1952.
ASCR is entirely maintained and operated by dedicated team of Volunteer Rail Safety Workers who are all members of the non-profit Bundaberg Steam Tramway Preservation Society (BSTPS). There is not one paid position within our organisation. Our track is 610 mm (2 foot) gauge.
Our trains run on most Sundays & Wednesdays plus most public holidays.
During the Queensland School Holidays we operate on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday during the Queensland School Holidays) between 9am and 3:30pm in the Bundaberg Botanical Gardens.

Tickets are available by CASH ONLY at our ticket window and there is also an ATM located inside Café 1928.
You do NOT have to pre-book except for Private Hiring of the train.
Trains are also available for Hire for events/weddings and joy rides. Contact us for more information.
